Page Jackson beautifully performs the song with backup vocals from Terry Young and Alfie Silas Durio. The song is a call to action for pet owners and humans to fight cancer…”Together we can change the world.” The objective of the piece is to make the public aware of Comparative Oncology, which is the study of naturally occurring cancers in both companion animals and humans to find new and effective treatments that benefit humans and animals. CLEAR first became aware of comparative oncology while filming their award winning documentary, MY FRIEND: CHANGING THE JOURNEY. CLEAR knew that the world needed to learn about this area of cancer research. What better way than a six-minute video set to music in order to get people started? The film was produced by Zippery Zoo Productions and directed by Stacey Zipfel, who also directed MY FRIEND: CHANGING THE JOURNEY. Chris Durkee of 4-Legged Flix was Director of Photography and DC Creative in Burbank supplied editing. The video tells the story of a boy and a dog, both battling cancer, who ultimately help one another through comparative oncology. The video stars Terry Simons, Brie Strohmeyer, Caroline van der Wyk, Page Jackson, Trevor Okwaho Hayes, Dr. Avenelle Turner, and introduces Jay Patriarca as the Boy and Ripper as the Dog. “We really came together as a family with a common goal on this project and that love shines in the video,” says director Stacey Zipfel. CLEAR is a 501(c)(3) corporation, was founded five years ago by Terry Simons when his heart and soul dog, Reveille, was diagnosed with lymphoma on November 23, 2011 and subsequently passed on December 1, 2012. The foundation’s mission is to create a greater awareness of canine lymphoma while helping to educate dog owners of prevention, options and that lymphoma is not a death sentence. CLEAR is proud to support the research of Dr. Kristy Richards at Cornell University. Dr. Richards is currently working to better treat, and hopefully cure, canine lymphoma.
